Performance

The new Ford Escape gives you a choice of three different engines. You can choose the 1.5-Liter 3-cylinder Turbo EcoBoost engine that gets 27 mpg city and 33 mpg highway. This engine can produce 181-horsepower and 190-pound-feet of torque. Under certain conditions, one cylinder can deactivate, and the vehicle can operate as a two-cylinder engine for an improvement in fuel-efficiency.

You can also choose the 250-horsepower, 2.5-liter turbocharged engine that can produce 280 pound-feet of torque. This one gets a bit lower gas mileage at 23 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.

If fuel-efficiency is your main concern, the Hybrid might be your favorite. This model is powered by a 2.5-liter engine that comes paired with a CVT for maximum efficiency. This model has a combined 40 mpg and a 550-mile range. Just as with the other engines, it comes with front-wheel drive, but has four-wheel drive available. All models can tow up to 3,500 pounds.

Interior

Perhaps, one of the most exciting aspects of that new redesign is the spacious interior. It can seat up to five comfortably and it has plenty of room for everyone. It has sliding second-row seats that you can use to create a bit more legroom in the back or increase the cargo space behind the seat.

Rear passengers will also enjoy the new reclining rear seats. Both front and rear passengers will enjoy more hip room and shoulder room. The Escape now has 37.5 cubic feet of cargo space, which is 3.5 cubic feet than previous models.

Highlights of the 2020 Redesign

The 2020 Ford Escape redesign represents the fourth generation of this model. Perhaps the most significant upgrade is the addition of the Hybrid. We have already introduced many of the interior upgrades that include more room and the option to slide the back seat to create the space that you need to seamlessly travel around Lansing.

The exterior redesign is probably the first thing that Haslett drivers will notice. The new Escape has sculpted lines that are sporty and stylish. This facelift makes it look more like a sedan and less like a utility vehicle. The Escape can perform like an SUV but has a minimalist look. Ford carried this minimalist design throughout the interior, too. The best part about the new Escape is that it is more car-like, but it still has the proportions and space of an SUV. It has SUV power, but it has a smoother and less rugged look.
